Vinteloper
MUSEUM RELEASE - SH/12 - Shiraz 2012
An ode to our patience. We've been saving this one for a special occasion.
Succulent scents of dark plum & blackberry, pepper & dark chocolate set the scene here.
Remember 2012? The Costa Concordia sunk off the coast of Italy as a result of the Captain's negligence. Vladimir Putin was elected President of Russia. And at Vinteloper we were still making Shiraz from the McLaren Vale wine region.
Only 1688 bottles produced. 24 bottles re-released.
Tasting notes
Our notes from the initial release of the wine were: The impeccable structure from beginning to end indicates this wine has many great years ahead. Full-bodied, red-blooded, muscular & bold. The tannin development in the vineyard was obvious early leading to extended time on skins & careful oak selection. This wine saw an 18-month oak maturation period, and now followed by a good few years under our care, it's set for your dinner table.
The concentration and intensity lingering within are the epitome of fine McLaren Vale Shiraz. it speaks truly of the deep, layered earth in which it grows.
