Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is shaped by the dirt in which it grows.

'Wine that is humble and powerful in the same bottle.

We love how captivating it can be, for heart and mind.

Nebbiolo does this thing. Darkness of fruit and clay against bright florals (roses) backed by a hardcore tannin profile.

The fruit is shy, dominated by savoury characters synonymous with Italian varieties. Palate things get deep. Roasted eggplant and cacao nib battle it out with 'purple jelly bean'

Our experimental range where we can really flex our creative winemaking muscle. 

Black label is our place to try new things and challenge ideas. 

On the nose, the fruit is shy, dominated by savoury characters synonymous with Italian varieties.
Pencil shavings, tar, white roses and sundried tomato feature.

On the palate things get deep. Roasted eggplant and cacao nib battle it out with 'purple jelly bean'. Then comes the serious tannin profile to hold all the structure and carry the palate
a long way home.

Fermented in a small open fermenter with 10% whole bunch inclusion. A total of 10 days on skins.

Pressed and settled before racking to large format seasoned French oak Puncheons (500L).
The larger oak format has a lower oak to wine ratio allowing for a slower and more subtle oak integration.

Matured in oak for 16 months.
Unfined and unfiltered
Bottled on 4th July 2023
Total production - 2038 bottles.
